Pet Nurse on New Occupation List

www.chinanews.cn 2004-12-04 12:39:36

Chinanews, Beijing, Dec. 2 (By Sun Yuting) - The Ministry of Labor and
Social Security recently released another ten new occupations to the
public. Earlier this year the Ministry already released nine new
occupations in August.
The ten new occupations include exhibition planner, business planner, DV
programmer, landscape designer, mold designer, furniture designer,
architecture model designer, customer service manager, pet nurse, and
animator.
These new occupations are mostly from management, planning, creative
design and programming functions in modern service industries. They
require not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on ability. In
other words, both skills and intelligence are prerequisites for these
occupations.
The emergence of these new occupations indicates that Chinese labor
structure is changing. A shift from traditional manufacturing industry to
tertiary industry is rapidly taking place. More and more people are
employed in creative positions, such as planning and designing.
