www.chinanews.cn 2005-04-19 13:28:50
Chinanews, April 18 - Sources from the 97th Chinese Export Commodities
Fair indicate that China's textile trade is expected to grow in a stable
manner, exceeding 120 billion US dollars this year. After the removal of
quota limits on China's textile export, there has been a significant
growth in mutual benefit between the world market and Chinese industries.
According to statistics, China imports more than 10 billion US dollars
worth of cotton, wool and other fabrics every year, and the demand for
high-quality fabrics from the global market has increased rapidly this
year. In January alone, China's textile imports from the EU and the U.S.
eyed growth of 40% and 50%, respectively. On the other hand, China's
textile exports only increased by 19% or so in the first quarter.
